Beyoncé Will Participate In YouTube’s 2020 Virtual Commencement Ceremony

Thank you, Queen Bey.

Students who have had their senior year altered by the COVID-19 pandemic will be able to enjoy a graduation after all. YouTube has announced that they would be hosting a virtual commencement ceremony called “Dear Class of 2020.” Nearly 30 artists, celebrities and influencers have been tapped to participate, including Michelle Obama, Lizzo and Chloe x Halle. Last night, it was revealed that Beyoncé will be present as well.

According to Variety, Beyoncé is set to share an “inspirational message” with graduating seniors.

Queen Bey has dedicated herself to multiple great causes throughout the pandemic. She helped establish COVID-19 testing sites in her native Houston, enabling everyday people to have insight on their health. Additionally, all of the proceeds from her “Savage” remix with Megan Thee Stallion went to Bread of Life, a disaster relief non-profit that is aiding COVID-19 victims in Houston.

The night doesn’t end with graduation though. YouTube will also host an after-party, with performances from Doja Cat, BTS, and Megan Thee Stallion.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 6 at 3 p.m. EST. The livestream link is here.
