Last night was BET’s 21st annual award show where the network celebrates Black culture in all of its glory. The star-studded event was hosted by Taraji P. Henson, and featured major performances by Latto and Mariah Carey, Chlöe , Lil’ Kim (as a part of a tribute to Diddy) and more. The red carpet was a sight to behold too, with our Fall 2020 cover star Marsai Martin attending the show in a sparkling custom dress by Dolce & Gabbana.
She was styled by Bryon Javar, who also styled Yung Miami in a Tony Ward ensemble for the night.

The starlet wore a jewel-encrusted dress slightly past knee-length with an asymmetrical hem. She paired the look with silver sandals with thin high heels, straightened, middle-parted hair by Alexander Armand and a soft glam beat by Diana Shin.

Martin was active during the awards show, presenting the Best Collaboration award and winning her own in the Youngstar category. “Thank you to so, so much to BET. Of course, I need to thank God, God is the reason for all of this,” she said during her acceptance speech. “So I am so, so, so grateful. Thank you to my parents, thank you to my amazing family and friends — and look, they mean the world to me, so thank you so much.” Martin concluded by sharing a special message to her young peers, saying, “Listen, us young people, we have to continue to use our voice,” she said.
When the young actress shared photos of her eye-catching dress, fellow celebrities like JT of the City Girls, Jalaiah Harmon and Cynthia Bailey complimented the look.
