Rapper Quavo (Quavious Marshall) is entering the world of film!
On February 18, Variety exclusively reported that he will have a starring role in Wash Me in the River, an action-thriller that will also feature Robert Dinero and John Malkovich. He will play the part of a “ruthless drug lord.”
“I honestly think this movie is going to be one of the greatest to come of this time,” Quavo said in a statement to The Fader. “The experience was unbelievable for me with Robert De Niro and Jack Huston being so down to earth and making me feel like family. Gonna see me doing some stunts and a lot of what you hear from me in my raps! This is one of my biggest debuts I’ve ever had and so proud of what we did and to get to work with Randall who’s such an amazing guy—I can’t wait to do more films with him.”
Multi-Grammy winner Lauryn Hill made history this week as the first woman in rap to have an album sell 10 million copies. Her solo debut studio effort, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, has been certified diamond by the RIAA. Singles from the project included “Ex-Factor,” “Everything Is Everything,” and “Doo Wop (That Thing)
