One of the most exciting weeks for fashion fans is currently underway. This year, New York Fashion Week is back to its fullest extent since the pandemic began featuring shows from No Sesso and Lionne to Sergio Hudson and TIER. For the occasion, celebrities from Justine Skye to Chloe Bailey flocked to runway shows and exclusive after-parties to celebrate fashion. Latto was amongst the attendees making her big Fashion Week debut and she didn’t disappoint. The 23-year-old rapper took part in the highly anticipated fashion extravaganza for the first time ever. Latto made sure to document every behind-the-scenes moment of each look and event she attended with her fans via social media.
For day one, Latto attended Fe Noel’s show, where the designer presented the brand’s Spring 2023 collection. “Day 1 of my first fashion week! Omg I’m soooo shy in real life so I’m hella out of my element but I actually had a blast!!” Latto wrote on Instagram.
She wore one of Felicia Noel’s designs for the occasion – a vibrant green, orange, and red dress with ruched detailing. The Sunset Dancehall Dress is a figure-hugging design complete with an off-the-shoulder look, making for the perfect Summer statement dress. The dress is being sold on Fe Noel’s website for $1,098. It was recently restocked one last time for the season.
Latto snapped multiple photographs of herself wearing the dress and posing alongside Felicia Noel herself, as well as with her stylist Zerina Akers and her sister Brooklyn Nikole.
Fe Noel’s runway show featured a romantic and pastoral color palette with soft peach tones, seafoam greens, and champagnes. It included notable nods to current trends by including matching sets, ruched and sheer dresses, as well as lingerie worn as outerwear. The overall show had a meaningful message – retirement inequality. The closing look was Fe Noel’s first-ever couture piece, as reported by ESSENCE. The model wowed attendees by walking in a gown covered in faux $1.6 million bills – the quantity of money women go without when retiring from the workforce.
Latto shared this special moment on TikTok. She also chronicled her participation in day 2 of NYFW by sharing her various outfit changes for Sergio Hudson’s and Marni’s shows. The same night, Latto performed her hit single “Bitch from da souf” during Sergio Hudson’s dinner in collaboration with Luxury Stores at Amazon. She shared that the designer personally requested the song as a nod to his southern heritage.
