Salon owner D’Andrea Harris only believes in the best for her clients. Her company, Dhair Boutique, specializes in premium raw human hair products. Offering an extensive range of options, from curly to straight and wavy textures, and locations in Dallas, Arlington, Houston, and Brooklyn, Dhair Boutique brings unparalleled quality and personalized service to hair enthusiasts nationwide. The luxury hair brand announced a new partnership with the trendsetting Jayda Cheaves on a captivating exclusive hair collection showcased at the Houston location.
Since starting her business 13 years ago, flying to different countries to source hair is still a necessary process Harris implements today. Harris founded her first Dhair Boutique location in Dallas, Texas, and her business took off from there.
“I started my business out of the trunk of my car,” Harris tells GU. “I visited the beauty supply store and said, ‘This is not the hair that Beyoncé and everyone else is wearing.’ From there, I was determined to find the best top-quality hair that looks and feels exactly like our real hair.”
Dhair products have been spotted on JT, Flo Milli, Jodie Woods and Megan Thee Stallion. With Harris being tapped in with the It Girls of social media, her partnership with Jayda Cheaves came naturally. She started her entrepreneurial journey in the hair industry with Amour Jayda, selling many products.
“Me and D have known each other for a long time,” Cheaves tells GU. “When I was selling hair, she’s someone who inspired me. Someone that I looked up to when I was 16. Partnering together is something we talked about before, and as time went by, the opportunity aligned. Before I even signed my deal, I tried the hair for a year and loved it. This is a product I can stand behind.”
While mega influencer Jayda is known to rock a long straight ‘buss down’ middle part, she’s no stranger to the importance of taking care of your natural hair. “I’ve been on this journey of tending to my natural hair more because I just did a big chop,” she says. “Braid-downs and making sure your hair is protected underneath those various installs is the most important thing. I also do scalp and steam treatments at least twice a month.”
The Jayda Cheaves Collection will be available to purchase during this March. The collection highlights Jayda’s signature looks — D Straight, available in lengths 12’-28’, and the Wayda Wavy, available in lengths 12’-30’.
“I value partnerships like Jayda’s. Especially during Women’s History Month, she has made a monumental impact on the culture with her signature looks,” Harris says. “Anytime we can work with like-minded individuals to create amazing campaigns with beautiful products like The Jayda Hair Collection, it is always a win.”
Last Sunday, the Houston location was full of women anxiously awaiting for Cheaves’ arrival. As a token of appreciation, the Dhair staff created rose bouquets for attendees ho came out to celebrate the new venture.
With plans to open her next hair boutique in Atlanta, she intends to keep the momentum of highlighting the importance of Black hair care culture this year by curating experiences that will bring together the community and continue to celebrate those creatives who are excelling.
“I built my success around quality, and hearing the customers’ feedback and understanding the hair trends have allowed my business to excel,” Harris says.
