GU Jams: New Music Releases To Add To Your Playlist
By Kenyatta Victoria · Updated May 1, 2024

New music Friday is here, and this week, we have a diverse layer of songs to add to the playlist. Whether you need a cocky jam from Ice Spice or an R&B jam by SiR, these artists are bringing a new sound to our sonic beds.

The new year, beginning in 2024 marks a plethora of new releases by some notable artists and new artists getting started on their journey. As we listen to these new songs, they begin to put listeners in the mindset of what possible projects can sound like this year. From Megan Thee Stallion to Lil Nas X these are the songs to add to your rotation to kick off the weekend.

Think You The Sh-t (Fart) By Ice Spice

If you’re chronically online from the moment Ice Spice released this snippet, it turned into a viral moment after kicking off the intro with “You think you the sh-t, B-tch you not even the fart.” After all, the song represents another moment of Ice Spice being in her pocket and using her unique style and delivery to her advantage.

No Evil By SiR

For the R&B lover girls and guys, SiR has you covered with his single “No Evil,” pairing it with an ode to D’angelo showing off his glistening body. Despite the thirst trap, the song has a modern rock and R&B flavor as the singer taps into a raspy tone and metaphorical melodies.

Where Do We Go Now By Lil Nas X

As Lil Nas X prepares for his new album rollout, including his HBO Original Documentary, Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero, the song “Where Do We Go Now” reveals a new layer of the Gen Z artist. He becomes vulnerable on the track as he tells the story of trying to find himself after reaching major music achievements and fame.
