GU Jams: New Releases To Add To Your Weekend Playlist
By Kenyatta Victoria · Updated May 1, 2024

Another cycle of new music is here for stans and connoisseurs to digest stories from their favorite artists. As February starts, we should expect artists to tap into a new persona to ring in the Aquarius season. Of course, there’s an influx of artists dropping new songs, and it can seem overwhelming to decide who gets a listen. Still, GU is here to keep you on track with the latest releases to blast this weekend.

If you’re looking to vibe to the alternative Black girl energy, then TiaCorine has the track for you, and if you want a cocky chill tune, JT’s got you covered with her new track. Check out the new songs and projects to add to your phone for February.

JT- Sideways

If you’re the type of listener who prefers a braggadocio type of energy then “Sideways” by JT is your new anthem. The City Girl released a new track that puts you in the reminiscent mindset of the Y2K video Vixen aesthetic to ride to and boost your confidence.

TiaCorine- Bonnet

With her new project, Almost There, dropping today, TiaCorine continues to stand out and play by her own rules. Her single “Bonnet” is an upbeat jam partnered with animated beats that almost remind you of a video game. She moves at warp speed with her flow and finds her pocket to deliver attention-grabbing bars.

Skilla Baby- Plate

Skilla Baby continues to be the hot topic in the new wave of rappers. His new single “Plate” showcases a vulnerable expression of the rapper being transparent with his journey toward fame. The song consists of storytelling about the things he’s encountered in the industry while still delivering a hard-hitting delivery with every lyric.

Monaleo- Don Who Leo

Monaleo released her new single “Don Who Leo” as she constantly keeps her fans on their toes with her outlandish bars with a mischievous delivery that we can’t help but love. The raptress paired the song with a fun video showcasing her effortless way of simply popping off and being her fun cocky self.

Bktherula- Crayon

After releasing her project LVL5 P1 last year, Bktherula is back with her new single “Crayon.” The Zillennial raptness is in her element as she raps over a hyperactive beat with a freestyle-sounding flow on the track.
