Grammy Award-winner and resident hot girl Megan Thee Stallion is about the make one of her dreams a reality. She is set to star in F*cking Identical Twins, an R-rated musical comedy produced by A24, the studio behind Euphoria, The Tragedy of Macbeth, and Zola, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Currently, in production, F*cking Identical Twins will offer a subversive spin on The Parent Trap, with actors Bowen Yang and Megan Mullally starring alongside Megan Thee Stallion in A24’s first-ever musical movie. The movie is summarized, according to THR, as two rival business partners who soon realize that they are identical twins, resulting in their desire to swap lives and reunite their separated parents. According to Pitchfork, the movie will also involve writers Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp while Larry Charles, who previously made Borat, will serve as the director.
This marks Megan Thee Stallion’s silver screen debut. “HOTTIES THIS IS OUR FIRST MOVIEEEE/ MUSICAL! WITH SOME MOVIE LEGENDS,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m so excited I feel so blessed I feel anxious lol I feel a bunch of sh*t. I really have been quietly putting in this work and I just can’t wait for the hotties to see everything.”
The 27-year-old “WAP” artist has been open about her desire to venture into film. In 2019, she told Vogue that she was in the process of writing a horror movie. She has shared her love for horror in the past, by impersonating Brenda in her own rendition of a comic scene in the Scary Movie franchise and transforming into 1987’s iconic Hellraiser for Halloween.
In December 2021, it was announced that Megan Thee Stallion struck a deal with Netflix to create and executive produce content for the streaming giant, such as television series and other projects. “I’ve always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories, so I’m thrilled about this partnership with Netflix,” she shared in a statement to Variety. “Venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur and I can’t wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch.”
“Megan is a multi-talented creative force who has consistently made her mark on culture,” Tracey Pakosta, the head of comedy at Netflix, said in a statement. “She’s always growing and evolving as an artist, and we’re thrilled that she’s making a home at Netflix for this next chapter in her journey.”
2022 is already starting off with a bang for Megan Thee Stallion, including her Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Superbowl commercial and birthday launch of her Pete and Thomas Foundation in memorial of her parents. “In celebration of my 27th birthday, I’m honored to introduce the Pete and Thomas Foundation. @PeteThomasFDN is a non-profit organization focused on uplifting and assisting women, children, senior citizens and underserved communities in Houston, Texas and across the world,” she tweeted. “My parents raised me to help others and give back, and I’m incredibly proud to launch this foundation in their memory. Follow @PeteThomasFDN for more ❤️”
We can’t wait to discover her upcoming projects. Congratulation, Meg!
