Queen Bey is kicking off her 40th birthday in style.
The singer attended the 18th anniversary of Jay Z’s 40/40 Club in a jet black Versace design from the brand’s FW 2021 collection. She paired the safety pin dress (that costs $3495 if you’re feeling especially luxe) with $1395 hot pink, square toe satin pumps. Alexa, play “Freakum Dress” and then “6 Inch” by Yoncé.
She also added a pink, off-the-shoulder sheer button down and a drawstring bag covered in jewels. To top off the “all Versace everything” vibe, she added a crystal-covered Versace tumblr.
Bey loves the Italian luxury brand—in fact, her first video from her debut album (“Crazy in Love”) and her first solo performance both included Versace. She’s worn ‘Sace for tours, red carpet events and hang out seshes we’ll never know the details of. She’s also been making waves in fashion—the Carters are the newest faces of Tiffany & Co. and Beyoncé’s collaboration with Adidas, IVY PARK, is still going strong.
“This collection is a mixture of my childhood growing up in Texas and a bit of American history, Beyoncé told Harper’s Bazaar for their August 2021 September issue. I grew up going to the Houston rodeo every year. It was this amazing diverse and multicultural experience where there was something for every member of the family, including great performances, Houston-style fried Snickers, and fried turkey legs. One of my inspirations came from the overlooked history of the American Black cowboy.”
