On April 7, the full moon was in Libra, and let’s just say that its effects were deeply felt. If you were stewing in your feelings all night, or thinking about yourself and this quarantine more critically than you had been before, it’s likely that your behavior can be attributed to the moon.
In addition to resting in Libra, the sign fixated on balance, it was also a pink supermoon. But don’t worry if it didn’t quite look like you envisioned — the moon needed to rest behind a pink cloud in order for it to actually appear pink.
The “supermoon” aspect comes from the fact that it was the largest full moon of 2020. As reported by Live Science, the moon was closer to Earth than usual, (and was actually closer than it’ll be all year,) and thus looked 7% bigger than it normally does. In addition to being a historic night from a scientific perspective, the pink super moon also provided some much needed spiritual insight for those who are invested in astrology.
“Having been socially isolated for a minute (a situation that is anti-Libra in practice and sentiment), we are collectively feeling the burden of distance from each other,” wrote astrologer Chani Nicholas on Instagram. “We are in this together-alone. Having this concentration of time with ourselves makes us more intimately aware of what is always awaiting us just below the business of life. Our defenses have fewer accomplices. Our vulnerability has more to teach us.”
Last night was a great opportunity to think about your journey holistically and be honest about how you’re really handling things. It’s a chance to take a more balanced approach to life by being fully present.
If you missed last night’s full moon, don’t worry. According to NASA, the moon will appear full until Thursday morning. So break out your telescope, enjoy the view, and get ready to dig deep.
