The holidays are known for many traditions and fun activities, but the holiday playlist is the most important aspect of the season. An unspoken rite of passage for new artists is that you have to create at least one-holiday classic during your career.
From Mariah Carey’s celebrated favorite “All I Want For Christmas,” to the R&B-infused “8 Days Of Christmas,” by Destiny’s Child, many of our favorite artists have created holiday gems that have stood the test of time. If done right, music fans get an extra dose of cheer from their faves.
A new class of artists entering the music industry grants listeners a new roster of artists to hear reimagined versions of our favorite holiday songs, and some new holiday tunes.
However, these beloved holiday songs not only benefit these artists through fan excitement,, but it also enhances their streaming numbers. According to Statista, the holiday tunes accounted for just one percent of all streams in early November. That share climbed to five percent by Thanksgiving weekend. It continued to grow through December before peaking at 22 percent on Christmas Day
