Girls United spoke with natural hairstylist Eden Bogale about the current hair trends that are taking over our timelines and Pinterest boards for our next hair experiment. “2023 has been a fun color and trendy hair year,” Bogale said. “Remember, hair color trends can change quickly, so it’s always a good idea to consult with your hairstylist who can help you choose a color that suits your skin tone, hair type, and personal style.”

Balayage
Balayage is an oldie, but goodies that provide the perfect summer look with soft streaks within the hair. “This technique creates a sun-kissed, natural look by hand-painting highlights onto the hair,” Bogale told GU. “This color trend has been around for some years now, and it’s definitely not going anywhere.”
Platinum Blonde
With festival and concert season in full effect, we all want to channel our inner Beyoncé. Platinum Blonde is perfect for any special occasion in the summertime. “This icy, cool-toned blonde shade can be a bold and striking choice,” Bogale said.
Pastel Colors
We’re in the era of a Barbie summer, so what’s a better combination than pastels? “Soft pastel shades like pastel pink, lavender or mint green have been popular choices for those seeking a more playful look,” she told GU.
Caramel Or Chocolate Brown Balayage
Caramel and Brown Balayage have turned into a subtle yet daring hair color for the summer that allows a new look without the fear of wearing a drastic color. “These warm, golden tones add depth and dimension to the hair, creating a sunlit effect,” Bogale said.
Copper Or Red Hair
Any season is a good time for any shade of red, and in the summer it pops even more on Black women. A mixture of copper and red can never go wrong.
