Blue Ivy Carter is adding more bragging rights to her beloved fandom, the Ivy League, after making her acting debut in Mufasa: The Lion King. The Zillennial’s acting debut marks the beginning of what could be a promising career in the entertainment industry. The 12-year-old snagged the role after her work with Barry Jenkins’ Hair Love. “I could just hear that Blue could do it, that she could play this character, Kiara,” Jenkins told Good Morning America.

Alongside her mother, Beyoncé, playing Nala, the film tells the story about the coming of age story of Mufasa, played by Aaron Pierre and joined by Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, a lion prince with a bright future who accepts Mufasa into his family as a brother. With the guidance of her parents and the support of her growing fanbase, she embraces the challenges of her first acting role with enthusiasm and determination. “I was so glad that both Beyoncé and Blue Ivy were down to do it, and watching them work together was just really special,” Jenkin says.
