Law Roach is one of the most in-demand stylists right now – and with a reason. Not only was the 44-year-old recently included in TIME’s 100 Next series of emerging leaders, but he also received the CFDA’s 2022 stylist award.
If you’ve seen Zendaya’s red carpet and fashion week looks then you are already familiar with his work. Law Roach has been the actor’s stylist since 2011. The pair met when Zendaya was 14 years old and in need of a dress for the premiere of the Justin Bieber: Never Say Never documentary. Law Roach is the creative force behind all of Zendaya’s looks – from her Rick Owens moment at the Dune premiere in the U.K. to her Balmain gown at the Venice Film Festival.
Last year, Law Roach styled 32 magazine covers as well as ad campaigns for some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses such as Valentino and Bulgari. His talent and popularity in the fashion industry has led FASHION Magazine to tap the stylist for the cover of its November 2022 issue.
For the occasion, Zendaya and Law Roach switched roles. The actor styled her long-time collaborator – resulting in a cutting-edge and fashionable magazine spread. The pair collaborated with the exact same team present during Zendaya’s 2018 cover feature.
“Proof Positive that anything is possible,” Law Roach wrote on Instagram. “I’m on the cover of FASHION Magazine, styled by Zendaya, the same cover that I styled her 4 years ago using the exact same team.” The team included photographer Nino Muñoz, make-up artist Kim Kimble and hair stylist Sheika Daley. “The UNIVERSE is truly amazing,” added Law Roach.
On the cover, the stylist is photographed in a sequin black-and-white Gucci suit and oversized shades. He swapped his signature long hair for a shorter cut. In the rest of the spread, Law Roach sports a purple Louis Vuitton varsity jacket designed by Virgil Abloh, an all-white oversized Balenciaga fit and a monochrome pink Versace coat and pants – among other looks.
Clearly, Zendaya knows what she’s doing.
