Reebok And Maison Margiela Collaborate On Fresh Take On The Tabi Boot

Here’s how you can get your hands on them.

During this year’s artisanal for Fall 2020 couture, Mansion Margiela showcased their collaboration with Reebok on the new tabi. Today, the boot is available for purchase.

The shoe debuted at Paris Fashion Week as a part of Margiela’s ready-to-wear collection back in February. Combining Reebok’s 1994 Instapump Fury with Margiela’s signature tabi boot from the late 80s, the shoe is a vintage ode with a modern twist.

It comes in four colorways, both heeled and flat, with prices ranging from $1150-$1490.

Margiela’s original debut of the tabi boot, which has Japanese roots, in the Spring/Summer 1989 runway show by Margiela shocked the fashion world with the unique split-toed design. The style has stuck around, and touts celebrities like Rihanna and Solange as fans.

As for Margeila’s partner, the sneakerhead realm was blown away with the introduction of the Instapump fury sneaker in 1994. Created by Steven Smith, who is known to some as “The Godfather” of the dad shoe, Reebok’s Instafury pays homage to the New Balance Super Comb. It was inspired by the aerospace industry as well.
