SZA’s Makeup Artist Gives The Details Behind The Singer’s Grammys Look
Last night, SZA walked away with her first Grammy at the 64th annual award show. All eyes were on her vintage, floral Jean Paul Gaultier dress and her natural makeup.
“SZA’s look tonight evokes enchanted floral goddess. Inspired by her gorgeous Jean Paul Gaultier dress, I wanted the makeup to be floral toned, feminine and flirty – something to complement her whole look, but not overpower it,” said Deanna Paley, the singer’s longtime makeup artist. The two have worked together on multiple of SZA’s red carpet looks, include the 2021 Billboard Music Awards and the 2021 American Music Awards.

Paley, who has also done glam for Saweetie and Shenseea, shared a list of products she used on the Grammy winner’s makeup. She used a single brand for the singer’s face—Byredo. Byredo is a European luxury brand that also sells perfume, home fragrances, body care and more.

Eyebrows
“I used the BYREDO All-In-One-Refillable Brow Pencil in Dusk,” she said in a release.

For SZA’s eyeshadow, Paley revealed she used BYREDO Eyeshadow Palette 18 Colours Flora Kalahari in shades Snow Dust, Bravery and Rose De Sables; and the BYREDO Eyeshadow Palette 5 Colours Syren, in shades Melody and Charybdis. “I also used the BYREDO Colour Stick in La Scene,” she said.

“I finished off SZA’s eyes with her signature cat eye, using BYREDO Technical Black Eyeliner, and topped her lashes off with the new BYREDO Astronomical Mascara.
