2026 is finally here, and some of our faves celebrated the New Year by catching flights to dream destinations like Tokyo, Lagos, and Marrakesh. Those who escaped the cold posted photos wearing diaphanous fabrics and shimmering pastels. Creatives who weathered below-freezing temperatures kept warm in stunning furs layered over fabulous dresses and two-pieces. Others skipped the holiday photo-op and shared their looks after the New Year buzz died down, setting the tone for 2026.
Nigerian designers stole the spotlight this week – crafting drool-worthy looks that creatives wore to holiday parties and weddings. Chinyere Adogu looked gorgeous in a body-hugging pink corset and a floor-length skirt from Matopeda Atelier. The skirt featured three tiers of beaded fringe, and both garments were decorated with the brand’s signature print. Angelica Ogbonna exuded regality in a mermaid silhouette gown by Concordia Atelier. The bust was skillfully carved into petals, and dazzling embroidery ornamented the bottom half. An underbust corset emphasized the waist, and a brown gele and gold jewelry were perfect finishing touches.
A New Year means a fresh start, and in fashion, this can manifest as clean lines, minimal styling, and a neutral color palette. On Saturday, U.K. and Toronto-based film director Sash uploaded a photo wearing a black leather funnel neck jacket over a white tank. A disc belt was slung around the waist of a pair of black pinstripe trousers – the hem of which fell over a round-toe boot. Silver jewelry, dark shades, and a slouchy shoulder bag added another layer of cool. Meanwhile, Cherifa Akili, a digital creator from Germany, wore off-white leather pants and a well-tailored single-button black blazer. T-strap kitten heels, a structured handbag, and cat-eye shades kept things effortlessly chic.
Let’s be honest; Instagram can be the best place to find your next outfit. There is nothing wrong with grabbing a little inspiration from the Internet, and these creatives brought the best style this week.
