MyaaP is defining her own breakout moment from her hometown and making it viral on her own terms. This Milwaukee rapper has quickly emerged as one of the women to watch in a city long dominated by male voices, and fans across social media are tuned into her journey and rapid success. Her trajectory is about more than just trending sounds; her undeniable confidence and authenticity have left audiences eager to see what she does next.
As a Milwaukee native, MyaaP was surrounded by the sounds of local legends like Chicken P and Certified Trapper, artists known for the gritty and catchy bass energy that defines the city. While the scene’s breakout names have historically been men, MyaaP has completely flipped the script. She possesses a unique ability to study beats her audience will love while engaging fans through her own choreography.
“I’ve been dancing since I was 8 years old. I’m 19 now and I know what type of music makes people move, so I just started making it on my own,” she said. “The key to going viral is to push yourself and get yourself out there on TikTok and Instagram. I just make a lot of catchy music. At first, I was making music off my phone and wasn’t really taking it serious, but when I posted it and it started going viral, I took rap more seriously.”
Introduced to recording by her brother, MyaaP did not make her first song until 2022, which speaks to the speed of her ascent. She bypassed the traditional industry route, paving her own way through instinct. Her early ABBA-sampling viral moment, “Getting to It,” built around “Dancing Queen,” exploded online before sample clearance issues forced it down. Despite that hurdle, it proved she is completely in tune with her audience. She understands the power of captivating hooks and how simple choreography can maximize a track’s reach. Her viral hit “Fairy” showcased this mastery perfectly.
“I didn’t expect ‘Fairy’ to do as much. When the beat maker sent me the beat, I didn’t know where the sound came from until my girlfriend told me,” MyaaP laughed. “Then I just made a catchy hook off it because the original sound was ‘she was a fairy.’ So I was like ‘she was a fairy, with a fatty, on my daddy.’”
The anthem racked up over 21 million streams and became one of 2025’s defining summer records, earning co-signs from industry heavyweights like Justin Bieber, Doechii, and Madonna. Her momentum continued as she opened for Veeze on the Ganger Tour, a pivotal career moment that allowed her to connect with widespread live audiences. It was during that stretch that she recorded her latest single, “Beep Beep.”
“I was on tour with Veeze when I made the song. I freestyled the whole song; I didn’t write or nothing,” she explained. “I just listened to the beat, went to the studio, and recorded that. I’ve been previewing that song since 2024 and now it’s 2026 and I’m finally dropping it. I really write all my music, so I was just in a good mood that night, but my goal for 2026 is to freestyle more.”
The release of “Beep Beep” sets the tone for her forthcoming mixtape, Pixie Dust, slated for release in March. The project marks her first full-length body of work since the debut of “Fairy” and carries significant expectations. MyaaP’s evolution is only beginning, and she is ready for the challenges ahead, having already shown tremendous perseverance.
“The advice I want to give my fans is that I didn’t give up no matter what. I’ve been through a lot. Last year, I got robbed and lost all confidence in myself, but I built that confidence back up,” she shared. “I made ‘Fairy’ and released it to keep going. That’s what I want my fans to know: don’t give up, because I didn’t.”
