As fashion continues to grow and reach new heights for young Black creatives, Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr. is the latest addition of Gen Z’ers at the forefront of change in fashion. The 19-year-old has made headlines after making his debut during Fashion Week, including the Luar Fall 2024 fashion show and Versace in Milan.
With Smith’s lineage stemming from Solange Knowles and Beyoncé, it was perhaps inevitable that the Gen Z’er would explore various options of artistic expression. While his roots lie in music, his passion for fashion has been evident, and his debut at places like Luar or Versace served as a testament to his multifaceted talents.

Smith strutted down the runway, poised and ready to make his mark. Among the lineup of various models in the industry, the Zillennial continues to stand out. Dressed in avant-garde designs that seamlessly blended streetwear aesthetics with high fashion, he exuded confidence and charisma as he debuted.
“I wanna thank you [Luar} for the amazing opportunity to walk for the show,” he posted on Instagram. “@Raulzepol, I love you so much, and thank you for pushing me to be better. @Solangeknowles Momma, you are my second lung and spirit animal, and I love you so much. With support from his mother, grandmother Tina Knowles, and his aunt Beyoncé, the outpour of love in person and online continues to be prevalent. Each piece spoke volumes about Smith’s choices and commitment to pushing boundaries, from bold patterns and vibrant colors to unexpected silhouettes and intricate details.
Beyond the mere aesthetics, Smith’s runway debut carried a deeper significance. With more Zillennials making their debut in different fashion spaces, it showcases a celebration of authenticity. “JULEZ!!!!!!! I am crying and reaching for my shades because your brightness is shining! Shining! Love you,” says Publicist Yvette Noel-Schure.
