Say it ain’t so. “WAP” rapper Cardi B (née Belcalis Almanzar) has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Offset (Kiari Cephus.) The two rappers were married for almost three years.
Cephus has been at the center of multiple cheating incidents since they married in September 2017. People confirms that infidelity indeed led to Almanzar’s decision to call it quits. They are set to appear in court on Nov. 4.
Attorney Adrienne Lawrence shared an online document that supports claims that the two are calling it quits. “It indeed appears that Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset in Fulton County, Georgia earlier today,” she wrote. The case information includes both of their legal names, today’s date as well as showing the case status as “open.”
The two wed secretly after a 7-month romance sparked at a Los Angeles music event. Almanzar gave birth to their now-2-year-old daughter in July 2018.
“Be Careful,” Almanzar’s emotionally honest 2018 song about the value of her heart is believed to be about her marriage to the Migos rapper.
