Welcome back to the beloved Ask GU segment from your favorite Zillennial team. Spring is in full effect, so it’s time for a refresh and revamp. We’re not just talking about the surface-level aspects, either. With April 1-25 being in Mercury retrograde, this period is the time to embrace new things and let go of what doesn’t serve you anymore. As the days get longer and the season is warmer, now is the perfect time to reinvent yourself and try new things you may have never tried.
As always, you guys did not hold back with your questions. From career advice to branching out in your adult friendships, the possibilities are endless for you to embrace this new season and let go of any anxious and overwhelming thoughts. Dive into this week’s Ask GU, where we chat about content inspiration, spring cleaning, and making friends.
Remember to participate in our weekly advice column. Ask your questions every Monday to potentially participate in the next conversation.
Q: I’m having trouble making friends. Do you have any tips before the summer gets here?
GU: You’re absolutely not alone. It’s hard making friends as an adult once we all get settled into our own lives and routines. Don’t be afraid to venture out on your own and try new things because that’s where most people organically bump into their new group of friends. Also, understand it’s okay if, on your first few outings, you’re not exchanging socials with people; give yourself grace and let things happen naturally.
Q: How can someone remain inspired when creating content?
GU: For creatives who hit a blockage during the season, live real-world experiences. Go out with friends, experience dating or have a self-care day. Those moments will immediately spark a new idea for content because you’ve given yourself a break from constantly creating content.
Q: Should I invest in renewing my space every season, or is it a waste of money?
GU: Now, of course, inflation is high, and things are not as cheap as they used to be, but there’s nothing wrong with splurging to invest in your space. For many Gen Z’ers, aesthetics is everything because we thrive when our space is enjoyable, so maybe every mid-season, look at some new deals and sales that fit in your budget to revamp and refresh your space.
