You get a Telfar! And you get a Telfar!
On August 18, Telfar shared details on their new bag security program, promising all supporters that they would be able to purchase the bags of their choice. This is a part of their one-day “bag security program” that is set to take place on August 19, 2020. It will last for 24 hours.
In a bullet point format, Telfar tweeted out a basic outline of what shoppers would be privy to. They listed that every color and size would be available for preorder and that bags would be delivered no later than January 15, 2021.
Telfar, Telfar Clemens’ 15-year-old fashion label that began to pick up serious steam in 2017, has spent a few months dealing with resellers. This security initiative is set to remove them from buyers’ experience and make the line more accessible for all.
When Telfar’s envied luxury bags would go up on the site for sale, people (namely those with no vested interest in the purses) would buy them up, mark up the price and attempt to sell them to would-be customers. Resellers have claimed that this practice “adds to the value,” but enraged brand supporters felt that it was nothing more than a greedy ploy to take advantage of people’s desire for the bags.
With this new program though, everyone will be able to get to the bag. Period.
