Opinions ranging from, “it’s no longer the same,” or “gatekeeping needs to return,” to “allow the new generation to enjoy the coveted experience,” and “Fashion week is what you make of it.” Either way, the bi- annual event clearly isn’t going away anytime soon.
For the upcoming fall season, we’re seeing an impressive lineup from Friday, September 6 to Wednesday the 11th. Labels like Who Decides War, Sergio Hudson, and LaQuan Smith are making their usual return, but we’re anticipating collections of the year from Off-White and Melitta Baumeister.

Off-White is making their New York Fashion week debut this season. After showing in Paris since the culmination of the brand. In an interview with Vogue, Off-White creative director Ib Kamara shared that Virgil Abloh, the late founder, had plans of bringing the brand back to New York at the start of 2022.
Hervé Leger also known as the creator of the viral bandage dress during the 2010s, is one of the designers that will show at opening day of NYFW. It will be interesting to see how this designer who once had the girlies in a chokehold will revamp their brand to match modern day aesthetics.
Gen Z designer Keith Harron will also show his brand Advsry for the second time at New York Fashion Week. After dressing NYC Council Member, Chi Osse for the 2023 Met Gala the young designer has worked hard to put himself on the map and on the shelves.
Who Decides War always shuts the city down this year. We are highly anticipating which lens they will take on their intricate denim creations. Early this year co-founder Tela D’Amore collaborated with Timberland creating a boot. Maybe this year they will tap into accessories, debuting bags and shoes.
Sergio Hudson always brings impeccable tailoring, interesting shapes, and fun colorways. Throughout the year we get to see his creations come to life through his muse, Keke Palmer but seeing the chic powersuits and sexy blazers in one collection is always satisfying.

LaQuan Smith brings out the it-girls and the glamor. With waist cinching corsets and figure hugging dresses each model walks down the runway as if she is the only person in the room. Smith’s brand exudes confidence and main character energy.
Luar is the brand for the gowrls and the girlies. From exaggerated shoulders and unisex heels to large eyewear frames, the drama is always present. Luar exudes shape, dimension and futurism which accurately represents the next generation of fashionistas.
