Our red carpet showstopper Zendaya is back like she never left to kick off the second half of the award season. The 26-year-old turned heads as she graced the 2023 NAACP Image Awards on the VIP Floor with elegant looks from head to toe.
Zendaya debuted two looks styled by her fashion partner in crime Law Roach, starting the night off with a vintage Versace spring 2002 couture gown. The second look included a neon green and black ensemble resembling the Disney character Shego from Kim Possible, but of course, she made it fashionable.
For her presenter fit of the night, or what Law described as our “dessert” on Instagram, was Zendaya’s custom recreation of a Prada gown from circa 1993. “Zendaya wore a custom Prada look inspired by the SS1993 collection, composed of a white silk Duchesse bra and skirt embellished with star-shaped inlays, paired with white pumps,” The official Prada Instagram posted.
With her alluring looks, the show’s real star was her silky and fluffy bob haircut she’s been swaying for the past few months. The fresh-cut hairstyle marked its debut at the Euphoria FYC panel event at Paramount Theatre.

The recreation worthy bob solidified that a new cut is just what we need for spring.
Her go-to hairstylist Tai Simon caught up with GU to share her secrets to having the perfect flowy bob. “It was a marriage of utilizing Tangle Teezer’s Wide Tooth Comb and Ultimate Style Brush for styling,” Simon told GU.
Her secret ingredients were OGX’s Silk Blowout Spray, Argan Oil Penetrating Oil, Coconut Curls Decadent Creamy Mousse, and Coconut Milk anti-breakage serum for protection, hydration & setting.
The next step to having the products melt so perfectly in Zendaya’s hair is Simon’s technique. “Hydration, setting with product & rollers, and not to mention high heat low power blow drying to style and maintain healthy natural hair,” she said.
Now that we have the recipe for achieving The NAACP entertainer of the year nominee, we can start recreating and maintaining the short cut for weeks. “The key is lightweight products with a stronghold, and a holding spray and sheen mist will do the trick every time,” Simon said.
