Girls united Summer 2020
Internship Program

Hi sis!

We wanted to let you know that ESSENCE’s Girls United is now accepting submissions for the Summer 2020 Girls United Internship Program!

Our poppin’ program is an 10-week paid learning experience. You’ll receive on-the-job training that will enhance your education and prepare you for a future career in event execution.

Requirements:

To be selected, you have to have an interest in event planning. You also must be enrolled in college.

We are looking for girls who are professional, self-motivated, fun, and extremely detail-oriented to take on the opportunity to work with ESSENCE’s Live Events team.

Opportunity:

As a Girls United intern, you will work closely with the Events Team to execute VIP and consumer driven events for the Essence Festival; list management, gift bag coordination, invoicing vendors, ordering décor items and more.

Come prepared to grow, develop and learn alongside the leaders driving the future of events.

The application process

Only one application per person will be considered. Selected interns will be notified by e-mail on or before May 6, 2020. Due to the large volume of applications, we will not be able to respond to telephone calls or e-mail inquiries.

To apply for a Girls United internship, submit a resume and a cover letter that tells us why you would like to intern with us. Please include any previous experience.

Interns will be assigned to live events department, but will be exposed to other areas of the company.

If you are not based in New York, interns are expected to find their own housing. We suggest you contact your school’s career center for information on temporary housing in the New York City area. You may also want to contact New York City area colleges and universities to ask about renting a dormitory room for the summer.

The Girls United In program runs from June 1st until August 7th.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Tuesday, April 21st, 2020.
