Eid al-Fitr was this past Friday, a celebration that marks the end of the holy month of fasting for Muslims. The holiday flooded the timeline with sharp, traditional dressing and vibrant colors. Also seen this week: creatives explored vintage styles, riffing on trends from decades long gone, and giving them a fun, modern twist. Keep scrolling to see some of our fave looks!
Creative multi-hyphenate Nneka Ibeabuchi celebrated Eid wearing an all black leather buubuu (a traditional, unisex robe originating in West Africa). Fuchsia pumps nicely complemented her powder blue nails and gold statement jewelry. Meanwhile, designer Tia Adeola wore a merigold ruffle-tiered dress (from her eponymous label) with a matching hijab.
Elsewhere, digital creator Jessi Regina showed off her baby bump in a double-breasted green skirt suit reminiscent of the 1960s. Oversized buttons and white stockings gave the suit a quirky upgrade, while black tabi flats and a suede mini bag in dusty pink brought the ensemble into the 21st century.
Stylist and interior designer Claire tapped into the retro wave as well, wearing a satin-trimmed brocade corset. The look was modernized with grey sweats, a fabulous fur coat, and oversized blacked-out shades. Flower earrings with pearl drops, cream bangles, and geometrical rings were the perfect accessories.
Letโs be honest; Instagram can be the best place to find your next outfit. There is nothing wrong with grabbing a little inspiration from the Internet, and these creatives brought the best style this week.
